Same Message, Same Week

God spoke to me through a unique experience related to Retha McPherson. To tell you what happened next, let me first tell you about another good friend of mine. I have a good friend, Princess LaVear, who was interested in the format of Self-Talk, which is used primarily by a secular and self-help audience through the concept of positive reinforcement on audio CDs. Princess LaVear created her own Scripture-based self-talk CDs and enjoyed the benefit of them. She went online to find more to order and could find none. Then early one morning, the Lord spoke to her saying that there was no Scripture-based Self-Talk format CDs and He wanted her to create them for people to use. She created a prototype version and a website to promote it.

In the fall of 2007, I had spoken to Retha McPherson about helping her promote her book in the U.S. and Internationally on Amazon, the largest online worldwide bookseller. At the same time, I had offered to help Princess LaVear promote her Self-Talk from the Scriptures™ CDs. At that time both women were busy with other endeavors and they told me that they would get in touch with me later. After the 2007 Christmas Holidays, one week in mid-January, Retha called me from South Africa excitedly and said she had been visiting Rwanda, Africa with her family over Christmas vacation. She told me that the Lord had spoken to her and told her to promote her book soon and that once she did He would be coming soon after. She called to see if I would help her to get her book up on Amazon as I had suggested I could do earlier that fall. She was earnestly excited by her message from the Lord to get the book out soon.

Within the space of a couple days of Retha’s call from South Africa, I received a second call from my friend Princess LaVear in California who told me that the Lord had spoken to her and she was told by Him to get her CD project out soon because He would be coming soon after the CDs come out. She too was very anxious to get her project underway and was getting ready to make urgent preparations to begin producing multiple versions of her Self-Talk from the Scriptures™ CDs.

Now these two women had not spoken to each other nor did they know each other to speak to each other. Yet they both call me within a couple days of each other—with virtually the same message—to get their books and CDs out into the general public’s hands and that soon after Christ would be coming. They were both excited about their requests to me. You could hear incredible urgency in their voices as they both pled their cases on each call. I was quite stunned by this event and took it at as a serious word to me as well that both women would call me within a couple days with essentially the same message.
